The Money Pilgrimage
A journey to heal your relationship with Money!
Startup Founders Edition
Money, a topic as intricate as it is essential, often reflects our deepest personal values and fears. For many of us, it symbolizes freedom, power, and opportunity, while for others, it carries connotations of greed, corruption, and hardship. Then there are those who find themselves somewhere in between, grappling with a sense of ambivalence. Yet, despite its undeniable significance, discussing money openly remains a challenge for most.
The Money Pilgrimage is a journey crafted to help participants explore and understand their individual relationships with money. This two-day experience offers a structured opportunity to delve into our beliefs, habits, assumptions and possible traumas around money. Through carefully designed activities and the engaging Money Game, participants embark on a journey of introspection and discovery. What do the two days look like? Day 1 10:00- 01:00 PM: Being in Silence, Diving into The Money Life Story 03:00- 07:00 PM: The Money Game Day 2 09:00- 10:00 AM: The Money Game Settling Reflections 10:30- 12:00 PM: Tuning into Your New Money Story, Practices of Transformation 02:00- 04:00 PM: Dialogue with Money, Reflections and Closing |
At the heart of this pilgrimage lies the Money Game, a gamified experienced designed by the Findhorn community in Scotland and brought to the world in virtual format by Greaterthan. The Money Game happens in multiple rounds in a group setting of 4-12 participants. There are many moments of silence, journaling and reflective dialogue wherein you are invited to dive within and make a sense of your own experiences. In the process of this game, you may witness difficult emotions that have the potential to become a fertile ground for personal and collective growth.
To be able to participate in the Money game part of the experience, you are required to bring a meaningful amount of money in cash that you are comfortable letting go of, but that is enough to 'trigger' your learning within. The role of the facilitator is to hold the space with care and safety, and allow different emotions to surface within you as per your own habits and beliefs around money. Your experience is ultimately your responsibility, while the facilitator is here to support you, but can only do so insofar as you express what you need.

"This game reveals so much more than you can imagine, it tells you about your ancestor's heritage and also your legacy. It's a journey through time." - Audrey Hespel-Campus, Decathlon
Why open to startup founders only?
This edition aims to create a space for:
- Personal reflection – Exploring personal money stories while also reflecting on how these narratives manifest in the companies they are building.
- Co-founder alignment – Encouraging all co-founders to join, to understand each other’s money histories and develop a deeper awareness of how to collaborate effectively while still acknowledging individual patterns.
- Common Patterns – Experiencing this journey alongside other startup founders helps to identify financial patterns common across the startup ecosystem.
What this Pilgrimage is not about!
This pilgrimage is neither about learning 'how to be rich, fast', nor about financial literacy or investments. This is more about your personal relationship with money (beliefs, habits, assumptions or possible traumas); no matter whether you are super-rich or struggling, this journey is equally relevant to you.
